Preston Shannon, Memphis
Tennessee's answer for the revitalization of the
historic music city's music industry has done it
again. This time the Grammy Awards nominating
process awarded his new album "All In Time" with
three Grammy Nominations. Shannon received "Best
Contemporary Blues Artist", "Album of the Year",
and "Best New Artist" nominations. The Album was
produced by legendary producer Willie Mitchell for
Rounder Records, Shannon's record company for the
past three years. Shannon was previously nominated
for a Grammy for his last album "Midnight in
Memphis" produced by Mitchell.
In an in depth interview with
the Internet Broadcast show "The Entertainment
Business Show" Shannon talked about the success of
his music and his long journey to this point in his
career. He also revealed some interesting aspects
of the insides of the music business. The exclusive
interview was conducted by Harlington Hanna Jr.,
Entertainment attorney and publisher.

The Shannon, Mitchell
combination has at least one more album up their
sleeve. Shannon talked about his plans for the new
album scheduled for release in late 2000. The
current album and the previous album also a
collaboration with Mitchell are noteworthy in that
Mitchell wrote many of the songs on them. Mitchell
who helped launch the careers of some of Black
music's greatest artist is probably best known for
his long and successful collaborations with Al
Green.
An interesting song on the album
"Just Between Me and My Woman" parodies The recent
scandal involving President Bill Clinton and Monica
Lewinsky.

techniques and production style used by Mitchell
and which is clearly evident to the listener was
one of the main reasons he insisted on having
